We treat lawns, shrub borders, fence lines and kennels with a residual acaricide, focusing on the edges where people and pets move. Long grass is cut short first, because ticks cannot survive long in short, dry grass.
For kennels and animal areas, treatment is combined with advice on resting sites: raised sleeping platforms, cleared surrounding vegetation and regular grooming of pets reduce the ticks that reach the family.
